It is hard to believe we are already looking ahead to Week 12 of the NFL season. The season has flown by thus far, leading us to this terrific Sunday Night Football matchup. We have the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Los Angeles Rams. Throughout this article, we will break down each team’s Week 11 recap and dive into our Eagles @ Rams NFL picks.
The Eagles come into this one after defeating the Washington Commanders 28-18 on Thursday Night Football. This young defense for the Philadelphia Eagles is starting to put things together, with potential stars like Jalen Carter and Quinyon Mitchell stepping up.
The offense also had a nice starting at the quarterback position. Jalen Hurts’ numbers are not eye-popping, but he was efficient. Hurts went 18-28 for 221 through the air while adding 39 yards on the ground, finishing off one drive with his pattened ‘Tush Push’.
The star of this game for the offense, however, was none other than Saquaon Barkley. Barkley sealed the game with not one but two late-long touchdown runs. He finished the day with 146 yards on the ground from 26 carries while also catching two balls for 51 yards, including 43 yards on a long run after the catch. Barkley has once again solidified himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL.
After a disappointing loss in Week 10 for the Rams, they got back on track against the New England Patriots. It was a back-and-forth affair, but ultimately the Rams won 28-22.
Matthew Stafford and his wide receiver duo were the stars of the show for the Rams. Stafford finished the day 18-27 for 295 yards and four touchdowns. He hooked up with Puka Nacua seven times for 123 yards and a touchdown. Plus, Cooper Kupp was no slouch in this either, catching six of his ten targets for 106 yards and two of those touchdowns.
It was Colby Parkinson who caught Stafford’s last touchdown, leaving running back Kyren Williams the odd man out in Week 11. Williams still contributed his fair share on the day, seeing 15 carries for 86 yards on the ground, which is a 5.7 yards per carry.
Both teams are in the thick of things for the NFC Playoff race. That makes this matchup critical for both teams. The Eagles have a two-game lead in the loss column over the Commanders but sit one game behind the Lions for the #1 overall seed in the NFC. As for the Rams, they currently sit in second place in the NFC West, with three teams having a 5-5 record, with the Rams holding the tie-breakers.
While researching the matchup between these two NFC teams, one thing stuck out. That was that the Rams have allowed the third-most receiving touchdowns to opposing wide receivers this season. According to StatMuse, the Rams have played the ninth-most man coverage in the NFL. One guy on the Eagles who kills man coverage is A.J. Brown. According to playerprofiler.com A.J. Brown sees the 12th-highest target rate against man coverage this season while also having the highest fantasy points per target vs. man coverage in the NFL.
With all that said, our Eagles @ Rams NFL pick will be that A.J. Brown scores a touchdown at any point during the game. The matchup is just too juicy to pass up on the value of A.J. Brown in this one, especially if it turns into a higher-scoring affair.
