Week 9 of the NFL season is just about over, and now it’s time to move on to the Week 10 slate of games. Looking ahead at Week 10, we have a great Thursday Night Football matchup between two AFC North rivals. The 4-5 Cincinnati Bengals travel to Baltimore to take on the 6-3 Ravens.
In this article, we will break down this Bengals @ Ravens matchup along with our Bengals @ Ravens NFL picks. Let’s dive into this AFC North showdown.
The Bengals were without wide receiver Tee Higgins in this matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, but it did not matter. The Bengals took care of business, beating the Raiders 41-27.
Even without Higgins and running back Zack Moss, the Bengals offense was firing on all cylinders. Joe Burrow threw for 251 yards and a whopping five touchdowns on the day. Burrow didn’t even throw a touchdown to his top wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase. Chase caught seven balls for 43 yards. Tight end Mike Gesicki caught two touchdowns on the day, with Drew Sample, Andrei Iosivas and Chase Brown catching the rest.
Without Zack Moss in the lineup, Chase Brown saw all of the backfield touches. He recorded 27 carries totaling 120 yards, having a great day in his first career start. With how Zack Moss has struggled at times this season, Chase Brown may have solidified himself as the lead back in this Bengals offense when both backs are healthy.
After a disappointing loss to the Cleveland Browns last week, the Ravens dominated Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos. They won the game 41-10, and their much-maligned defense this season had a solid day against the rookie QB. They sacked Nix four times, and Ar’Darius Washington picked off the No. 12 overall pick.
On the offensive side, the Ravens were clicking after trading for wide receiver Diontae Johnson. Quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns, adding to what has been an MVP-caliber season. It wasn’t Diontae Johnson who had a big day in this wide receiver room, but Zay Flowers continued to shine. He had five receptions for 127 yards and caught two touchdowns from Jackson.
We also can not forget to mention the running back Derrick Henry, who had a great day once. He rushed for over 100 yards for the fifth time in nine games and found the end zone. Henry has scored a TD in eight of his nine games this season and has been a terrific off-season acquisition for this Ravens squad who look to make a run at the Super Bowl.
These two teams met in Week 5 of the NFL season, and the Ravens won in a thrilling overtime matchup, 41-38. Both quarterbacks combined for nine touchdowns through the air that day, and the defenses had no answers for the offense.
We expect this game to be a very similar game script given how these defenses have played this season. However, we have seen teams come out flat at times when they have a quick turnaround to Thursday Night Football.
With that said, we expect many points in this game. One of the safer picks we can make in this one is Derrick Henry scoring a touchdown at any point during this game. Henry opened the scoring in this matchup in Week 5, and we expect him to once again find his way into the endzone in a high-scoring affair.
