It was an amazing slate of Week 10 action in the NFL. Now is the time to look ahead to Week 11, and boy, do we have a great matchup in store for Thursday Night Football. It’s a battle for first place in the NFC East between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
Let’s preview the matchup and give our Commanders @ Eagles NFL fantasy picks for TNF in Week 11.
The Commanders are coming off their toughest loss this season. They lost 28-27 at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a questionable call. On a fourth down, tight end Zach Ertz was tackled right at the first down marker, and the referees marked him short. It was a questionable call, but there was nothing the Commanders could do about it.
Jayden Daniels had a tough day against a good Steelers defense. They held Daniels to just five rushing yards, and the rookie went 17-34 through the air for just 202 yards and got sacked three times. Daniels and WR Terry Mclaurin did hook up on a long pass play, setting McLaurin up for a big day of five catches for 113 yards.
It was the Commanders’ RBs who found themselves in the end zone. Veteran back Austin Ekeler had two rushing touchdowns, and Jeremy McNichols also scored. The Commanders played a solid game, but they were just on the short end of the stick in Week 10.
There was quite a difference between the Commanders and the Eagles Week 10 review because Philadelphia dominated their matchup. They beat the banged-up Dallas Cowboys 34-6, outplaying them in every aspect of the game.
QB Jalen Hurts had an awesome day on offense. Hurts found the end zone four times in total, twice through the air and twice on the ground. The two guys who caught the touchdown passes from Hurts were not who you think they would be. TE Dallas Goedert, who was back from an injury, was on the end of one, and the rookie WR Johnny Wilson caught the other. Star wide receiver A.J. Brown also had a solid day, catching five of his seven targets for 109 yards.
With the Eagles dominating this game, it meant a quiet day for Saquon Barkley. Saquon just had 14 carries for 66 yards. The Eagles went to more of a running back-by-committee approach in this one, with Kenneth Gainwell seeing seven carries and rookie Will Shipley recording nine. This game was out of reach as we headed into the fourth quarter with the Eagles in full control.
This is a huge matchup for both teams, as the Commanders are 7-3, and the Eagles are 7-2. The winner of this game will take sole possession of first place in the NFC East, making this quite possibly the most exciting Thursday Night Football matchup of the season.
With both teams coming off of short rest after both playing Sunday afternoon, you have to think the Eagles have the advantage. They dominated the Cowboys and got to rest some starters as the game got into the fourth quarter. As for the Commanders, we mentioned they lost heartbreakingly to the Steelers.
The Eagles will try to be the more physical team against a mentally and physically exhausted team in the Commanders. We like both Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts to have big days in this one. However, our Commanders @ Eagles pick is on Jalen Hurts to score a rushing touchdown at any point in this game. Hurts has scored at least one rushing touchdown in four of his past five games while rushing for multiple in three of those games.
