Week 10 of the NFL season has come and gone. Now, it’s time to look ahead to the biggest game of Week 11, which comes during the late afternoon slate of games. The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills. Both Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen look to write a new chapter of their rivalry, making this an exciting matchup.
In this article, we broke down the matchup and gave a Week 10 review from both teams.
The Chiefs stayed undefeated after a wild Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The Broncos were in range for a chip shot field goal as time expired to win the game 17-16, but the Chiefs special teams unit had different plans by blocking the field goal attempt and winning 16-14.
The Chiefs defense continued to play at an elite level, holding the Broncos to just 14 points. However, their offense struggled to get going at times. Patrick Mahomes threw the ball 42 times, completing 28 of them for 266 yards and one touchdown pass to Travis Kelce.
It was running back Kareem Hunt who had a workman-like performance. Hunt saw 14 carries on the ground but could only muster 35 yards. However, he also led the team in receiving, catching seven passes for 65 yards. With Isiah Pacheco still out with the leg injury, Hunt has come on strong after starting the season as a free agent.
Like the Chiefs, the Bills are coming off a Week 10 victory. They were short-handed in this one, losing Dalton Kincaid early, while Keon Coleman and Amari Cooper were ruled out to begin the game. However, the Bills still found a way to win the game on the road over the Colts 30-20.
The Bills defense was the story of the day. They picked off veteran QB Joe Flacco three times while forcing him to fumble once out of their four sacks. The Bills offense was led by Josh Allen, who had a rocky day. Allen had 330 total yards and found the end zone on the ground once, but he did throw two interceptions. However, Allen made the plays when it mattered most to get the Bills the victory.
RB James Cook chipped in with 80 yards on the ground and a touchdown. WR Mack Hollins led the Bills, as he and Josh Allen hooked up in the second half on a broken play for 44 yards, which was a thing a beauty. It was a big win for the Bills, but this matchup against the Chiefs is even bigger.
These two teams have carved out quite the rivalry over the past few seasons. Josh Allen and the Bills have a 3-1 record over the Chiefs in the regular season. However, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have owned the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs, winning all three meetings between these two QBs.
The Bills need to win this game if they want any hope of claiming the number one seed in the AFC. With the Bills pass-catchers banged up heading into this contest, I am not sure the Bills can pull this one off going against an elite Chiefs matchup. To do so, Josh Allen will have to play like Superman, and James Cook must do his thing on the ground.
With all that said, we will target Josh Allen for our Chiefs @ Bills NFL pick. The Bills will need Josh Allen to do a lot with his legs. That’s why we are taking Josh Allen to tally 25+ rushing yards in this one.
